You are living simply with your family and abruptly there are cockroaches, your shelter is gone, there are different type of apocalypses happening all you have is 60 seconds to survive it all or you can gain those 60 seconds by using your sense of humor and getting a quick effect. There are multiple unique point of view to make the situation more real and to make an impact on the player so that he or she can get involved.

Your goal is to take Ted through a series of mishaps while keeping his family along side with him. As when everything is against you, your family is what you got! Keep Ted patient in his crazy, intense family with a touch of action seeking capabilities and guide him to get supplies that are useful for all leaving behind the unwanted stuff. Every time you open the game you will find yourself in a different scenario from the place to the house you furniture, an apocalypse, everything will be different. New challenges new situations to put up with. Feed food, water, send wasteland expeditions and more. As you have probably guessed, 60 Parsecs! Is the sequel to the very popular and fun 60 Seconds. This time around, instead of being underground in a bunker. You are floating through outer space and as the captain, you need to make the right decisions to ensure your crew's survival for as long as possible.

Grab What You Can

The first part of 60 Parsecs! Is going to be what dictates just how long your game is going to last. You are on a space station and you have 60 seconds to grab crew members and supplies and get to the escape pod before the ship blows up. If you do not make it to the escape pod, your game is over before it even starts.

Floating Through Space

Once you make it to the escape pod the real game begins. The whole idea of the game is to survive for as many days as you can. I made it to day 44 as my highest, but I have heard some folks can get to day 100! The game will through decisions your way, it can sometimes be as simple as a yes or no answer. Other times you may have to pick a certain tool for a certain job. Or perhaps pick a crew member to do something.As the game is set in space, you can go to planets where you can interact with life there and try to get supplies. You need to send crew member out to explore, but more often than not they will end up dying! I found this to be a bit frustrating and could not really figure out exactly what I needed to do to get them back to me.

Take Care Of The Crew

You would think that as you saved them from certain death your crew would be willing to go above and beyond to help you! That is not always the case, more often than not they will complain about being hungry and even develop insanity! You need to take care of them and the hardest part of this is dealing with the food situation. I found that grabbing as many cans of food before you escape was the key here.You can craft things on your spaceship and this can, first of all, give your crew members a purpose. However, it can also lead to you getting supplies that can lead to keeping them happy, healthy and from complaining all of the time.

I actually really like the 2D style that 60 Parsecs! Has. It really does have a lot of charm and while some might wish the initial grabbing section of the game was 3D like in 60 Seconds. I actually think there is way more personality to the art style here. I do wish that the sound was a bit better though as I think having a lot of spoken dialogue would have made the crew members even more interesting.

I had a lot of fun with 60 Parsecs! It is a permadeath style of game so when a round ends and everyone is dead, you have to start again. You learn a little more each time you play and trying to get to just one more day is actually way more addictive than you would think. I have had a blast with this and highly recommend that you check it out.
